GrafSeal Ribbon Tape is a corrugated Tape manufactured from Flexible Pure Graphite Foil. GrafSeal Tape is designed for use as gland packing for valves as well as pumps. Gland packing can be made at site itself by wrapping corrugated GrafSeal Tape around the spindles / steam and pressing it by gland follower. An endless seal ring is formed directly around the shaft. The parent equipment need not be dismantled to provide a positive seal. However, although a free handy solution at plant site, it can be used in emergency when preformed gland packing’s are not available.

GrafSeal Tape is also available without corrugation which can be used as thread sealant tape for high temperature threaded pipes, nuts and bolts.

This is Reinforced by a tanged (microperforated) 0.1mm thick stainless steel carrier of 1.4401(316) on expanded flexible graphite sheets selected from the high purity natural flake graphite. The sheets are compressed by a controlled calendering process along with an advanced chemical treatment and mechanical procedure or bonding of two flexible graphite sheets together with metal reinforcement .Reinforced graphite material allows the material to achieve substantially higher dynamic loading giving it a high blow out resistance,improved tightness and mechanical strengthhenceprovides an excellent gasket material for high temperature, high pressure applications. Properties are highly anisotropic, particularly in respect to electrical and thermal conductivity

Application:
It is an ideal material for most industrial fluid sealing applications Microperforated graphite sheets are punched with small holes, which are widely used in furnace to release gas. It is typically used for head gasket and exhaust gasket of combusition enginesand pressinginto all kinds of sealing gaskets used in Automotive ,Heat Treatment & Furnaces.

This is a high purity ( 99.00% to 99.9% carbon ), self lubricating and anti-frictional die molded, pre-formed gland packing ring manufactured from Flexible Pure Graphite Foil. These rings are manufactured in endless form or in 2 halves in oblique cut containing no oil or grease binder / additive of any kind.

Our packing ring is totally free from any kind of contamination. For compression resistance and retention of size and shape the rings are manufactured with accurate specific density suitable to the working condition. These packing rings are having high thermal and dimensional stability and extremely low gas / fluid permeability, very low thermal expansion and extremely high chemical resistance. These rings are having low co-efficient of friction ( 0.08 to 0.1 against steel ) and hence, with continuous operation it polishes the stem / shaft and are also non abrasive in nature.

The Flexible Pure Graphite rings adjust to any irregularities under moderate pressure and have excellent resistance to pressure surge and thermal shock. These packing rings are chemically inert and also fire safe.

This packing ring is having inherent characteristics of basic graphite and hence having high degree of flexibility, compactibility, conformity and resiliency.

These rings expand radially to form perfect seal against the shaft and housing. Graphite is an extremely good thermal conductor and as such the packing dissipates heat away from the body leading to a longer life of the packing.

These rimgs are also manufactured for nuclear applications with slightly improved chemical properties. These packing's are stable even under exposure to high doses of nuclear radiation.

Service Recommendations : Super Heated & Saturated steam, Hydro Carbon, Fuel Oil, Lube Oil, All non oxidizing Liquids and Gases, Dyes and Chemicals.

Not Recommended For Use In Aquaregia, Fuming Nitric Acid, Oleum And Strong Oxidizing Media.
